IN MEMORY OF THOSE WE LOVE



James Edward Burnham

19, a resident of The Dalles, died at the University of Oregon Hospital in Portland on Wednesday (January 20, 1993) from complications of a kidney disease which he had been fighting for 3.5 years. He was born Nov 25, 1973 in Portland and moved to The Dalles with his family when he was seven months old. He attended Joseph G Wilson Elementary and was currently a senior at The Dalles High School where he was involved with the football and wrestling teams. He enjoyed fishing with his family. Funeral services will be at Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home on Monday (January 25,1993)at 11 am with Rev James Hazlett officiating.



Jami Sue Lyon (Crandall)

Jami Sue Lyon, 30, a resident of The Dalles, died at her family home in Moro, on Thursday, Nov. 10, 2005. She was born Nov. 24, 1974, in Salem. She attended grade school in Mehama, Ore., and moved to The Dalles in the fifth grade. She became a homemaker and a mom. She liked to read, and also enjoyed beading, flowers, fishing, horses, camping, and rock hunting. She loved the beach and tide pools and also loved being with friends and socializing. She was a member of Relay for Life, and a member of the Gateway Presbyterian Church.

She married Mark Christopher Lyon of The Dalles. She is survived by her husband, Mark Christopher Lyon, The Dalles; her sons, Jordan Ray Anderson (13), Tyler James Lyon (7), and Mikel Christopher Lyon (5); her parents, Carol and Andy Anderson, Moro; and John and Linda Crandall, Las Vegas, Nev.; her grandmother, Sigrid Harvey, Lucerne, Calif.; and her grandparents, Peg and Wayne Anderson, Prairie City; her brothers and their spouses, Sean Karl and Miranda Crandall of Lyle; Wesley Jon and Sarah Anderson, The Dalles; and Matthew Dee and Caroline Anderson, The Dalles; her nephew, Kyle Dee Anderson, Albany; her nieces, Mady and Tori Anderson, The Dalles; her aunts and uncles, Thora Jane and Robert Stacy, Salem; Barbara Lee and Ted Schaffer, Hermiston; Polly Ann and Bob Chambers, Nice, Calif.; Cheryl Lynn and Doyle Hollingsworth, Lyons; Frank Harvey, Salem; William Ray and Edna Harvey, The Dalles; Paul Homer and Sharon Harvey, Winchendon, Ma.; Ronald James (deceased) and Janeane Harvey, Jefferson; David Eugene Harvey, Portland; Donald Kim Harvey, Ontario; her cousins, Samantha Mae Lynn Harvey, Mehama; Raymond Leon Snyder Jr., Baker; Paul Daniel Snyder, Ukiah, Calif.; Shannon Marie Harvey, Massachusetts; Paul Homer Harvey III, North Carolina; Cherie Donnell Coiner, The Dalles; Michelle Rene Miller, The Dalles; Michael Ray Harvey, The Dalles; Roxanne Lee Loucks, Hermiston; Rebecca Marie Ashley, La Grande; Virgil Ray Robbins Jr., Hermiston; Eric Ray Harvey, Lyons; Mindy Lynn Waldon, Cave Junction; Nickola Rene Slupe, Albany; Jessica Sigrid Janeane Schultz, Townsend, Mont.; Ronald James Harvey, Minnesota; Jennie Marie Harvey, Gresham; and Jacob Lee Stacy, Salem; her in-laws, Larry and Jane Lyon; her sisters-in-law, Kim and Jenni Lyon, all of The Dalles; and numerous second and third cousins.

Memorial services were held Nov. 14, at the Gateway Presbyterian Church. Remembrances may be made to the Jami Lyon Memorial Fund in care of the Columbia River Bank. Private cremation was held at the Win-Quatt Crematory with Spencer, Libby, and Powell Funeral Home in care of arrangements.



Zachary Dalton Johnson

Died at his home in The Dalles on Wednesday, Sept 14 1994. He was 19. In remembrance, his sister Amanda and his parents Phillip and Robin Johnson will open their home in The Dalles to family and friends on Saturday, Sept 24 1994 from 11am to 4pm.



A.W. Lunceford

AW Lunceford, 28 yrs old a resident of The Dalles Or, died Sept 26, 2003 in Prineville, OR. AW was born April 20, 1975 in The Dalles, OR. He attended Joseph G Wilson, The Dalles Middle School, and graduated from The Dalles High School in 1993.

Following high school, AW traveled the Rodeo circut as an all around cowboy. AW married and had a son Tyler Lunceford born in Feb. 1995. AW enjoyed the outdoor life and was an amazing hunter and fisherman. He was an exceptional father and loved spending time with his son showing him these traits. AW was one that never met a stranger.

AW is survived by family and many friends. His presense will be missed.




Brian Leigh Leavitt

Brian Leigh Leavitt, 30, a resident of The Dalles, died in Portland, Saturday, April 1, 2006.

He was born in The Dalles, on April 2, 1975, the fourth of five children to Gary Leigh and Karen Lee (Blaser) Leavitt. He was raised in The Dalles and graduated from The Dalles High School in 1993.

Following high school, he worked driving semi-trucks for Braun Enterprises for several years. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 2000 working as a heavy equipment operator and rifle instructor. Within this time he earned the rank of expert rifle marksman and numerous commendations for his work in heavy equipment. He served his country in the Iraq War and aided in the humanitarian effort .Operation Sweeny..

He enjoyed the outdoors, skiing, three wheeling, animals, motorcycles, collecting guns, building and remodeling structures. He was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

He is survived by his parents Gary and Karen Leavitt, The Dalles; his three sisters, Cindy Miller, Stephanie Leavitt and Katie Leavitt; his niece Audreia Leavitt and his two nephews, Blake Leavitt and Jacen Miller all of The Dalles. He was preceded in death by his sister Tawnya Leavitt.

Viewing visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 5, from 2 to 7 p.m. at Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 6, at 10 a.m. at IOOF Three Mile Cemetery with Ron Robbins officiating. Heather Renee Manning-Dinnell

Heather Renee Manning-Dinnell, 31, a resident of The Dalles, died at her home on Sunday, June 17, 2007, after a long struggle with multiple sclerosis. She was born Aug. 2, 1975 in The Dalles, the youngest of two children to Vernon Gene and Judy Ann (Axtell) Dinnell. She grew up in The Dalles, graduating from The Dalles High School in 1993.

She lived in The Dalles, where she met and married her husband, Raymond Manning III on Sept. 3, 1994. They moved to Vancouver, Wash., where Heather worked for Trend West as a telemarketer, moving back to The Dalles in 2000 to be closer to family. She enjoyed reading, listening to country music, shopping and cats.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond Manning, The Dalles; her parents, Judy A. and Vern G. Dinnell, The Dalles; her brother, Jason Dinnell and his wife Arcy, Oak Harbor, Wash.; and caregivers Judy Parries and Nina Skulstad.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 25, at United Church of Christ with Rev. Karl Vercouteren officiating. The family asks that those attending services wear a shade of purple in Heather’s memory. There will be a reception following the services at the Eagles. Private Cremation was held at Win-Quatt Crematory with Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home in care of arrangements.

Kevin Patrick Mullen

A lifelong resident of The Dalles, died at his home on Sunday, April 5 (1992). He was 17. Kevin was born Nov 12, 1974 in The Dalles, Or to James H. and Nadine L. Mullen. He attended St. Marys Academy, The Dalles Junior High and The Dalles High School and was a junior at that school at the time of his death. Kevin was a highly active student and was a 4.0 honor student. He enjoyed music, photography and piano. Kevin was a member of St Peter Catholic Church and was a member of the youth choir. Recitation of rosary will be April 7 (1992)at Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home. Mass will be held Wednesday, April 8(1992) at 10:30 am at St Peter Catholic Church with Rev Ronald Maag and Rev Joseph Kelbel. Internment to follow at St Peter Catholic Cemetary.
